_{[When the feed flips on, it doesn't show a back alley. Or a pizza parlor. Or the street. Not even the sewer! Instead, it shows the great outdoors. The sprawling route from Goldenrod to Violet stretches out to the horizon. The sun is drifting downward and turning the whole world orange and purple. The view is from rather high up as well. This is made obvious by the few flying-types that dart past the camera.]}

Would ya take a look at that? And to think I stayed in that boring city for months with this ten steps out my front door!

_{[Ralph angles the camera down through the branches of the tree he's hanging from to show off the little camp site he and Vanellope have put together.]}

And here we have--wh... She was there a second ago. HEY, KID! WHERE'D YOU GO? I TOLD YOU NOT TO GET EATEN BY ANTYHING! Hang on a sec, I'll be back.

It's nice isn't it? The great outdoors! It's my favorite part so far. But then again, I was really cooped up for a while before I got here so that might be why.

[A tilt of her head.] Ah... did you lose someone? That's probably not good. I hope they didn't get eaten! [Asahina the optimist.]

_{[Ralph replies once he's sure his travel buddy didn't wind up a snack for an ursarang.]}

Yeah? What kind of g-- place do you come from? I think I'd go crazy if I didn't get out of the city in the next couple of weeks.

False alarm, she's fine.

[Murder horror game. Terrible place to come from! Asahina laughs a little.] Well, I'm from Tokyo, but in particular, just recently, I was stuck in a school and held prisoner. We couldn't go outside at all. So I know what you mean! I thought I was going to go nuts without any daylight or seeing the sky!

[Asahina beams here, nodding.] I'm glad to hear it! It's scary when you lose track of a friend all of a sudden.

[Or maybe that's just her and a little bit of the effects of what she's been through lately.]

_{[Well that sounded...unpleasant.]}

Yikes...well, I'm glad you got some fresh air.

[Asahina nods in fervent agreement.] Me too!

So... you're on a trip? Going somewhere exciting? Traveling here is a little weird, isn't it? No cars or subways or anything.

Y'know, I hadn't noticed that...yeah, it is.

_{[The only subway he rode went to and from Tapper's.]}

I'm really not used to it at all. But... it isn't a bad thing I guess. I'm getting a lot of exercise anyway!

[And the most exciting part about that is,] Which means I can eat a bunch more donuts!

[The brightest bright side of all.]

_{[Ralph laughs at that. Her joy is kind of contagious!]}

Sounds good t'me, sister!

[A little laugh of her own before she seems to realize something.] oh right! It's a little weird, talking to people I don't even know on this, so I should probably introduce myself at least, right? I'm Aoi Asahina! What's your name?

Heya, Aoi. Name's Ralph! Just Ralph.

Nice to meet you, Ralph.

[Chipper as ever, but also chatty as ever. Sorry, Ralph.] So where are you and your friend traveling to?

We're headed to Violet to meet up with another friend.

Oh neat! That's where I'm going too. A bunch of my friends are there, so I'm sort of the straggler.

[Something like that anyway.] Do you know anything about Violet City? Like, what's there I mean.

Not a whole lot, just that it's supposed to be a good change of scenery from Goldenrod.

Well, I guess that's what exploring is for anyway. It's sort of fun to find that sort of thing out.
